The news came after a paternity test showed a very high chance that Musk is the biological father.
The child, who was born in September 2024, had previously only been referred to by his initials: R.S.C.

According to a report from “The Wall Street Journal,” the baby’s name is Romulus.
This name was revealed along with the paternity test results. The test, done by Labcorp, showed that Musk’s probability of being the father is 99.9999%.
A spokesperson for Ashley St. Clair also confirmed the child’s name and the results of the test.
This announcement came months after the baby’s birth and after growing media interest in the story.

In February 2025, St. Clair posted on X (formerly Twitter) to say that she and Musk had a child together.
She explained that the baby was born in September 2024, but she didn’t share the news earlier to protect her child’s privacy.
“Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father.
I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause,” she wrote at the time.
In the same post, St. Clair asked that the media not follow or report on her child.
“I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment,” St. Clair continued. “For that reason, I ask that the media honor our child’s privacy, and refrain from invasive reporting.”
The dispute arose over child support and Tesla.
In March 2025, St. Clair appeared in a video. In the clip, she gave away the keys to her Tesla Model S.
She told the outlet that she was selling the car to make up for a “60 percent cut” in child support payments from Musk.
She said she needed the money to help support their child. The sale of the Tesla was seen by some as a public message about her financial situation.
Elon Musk responds to the allegations online
Elon Musk responded to the video and St. Clair’s comments through a post on X.
He was replying to a tweet by Laura Loomer, who had shared the video online. Musk said he didn’t “financially retaliate” against St. Clair or their child.
He added that even though he was unsure if the baby was his, he still offered financial support.
“I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but am not against finding out. No court order is needed,” he wrote on X.
“Despite not knowing for sure, I have given Ashley $2.5M and am sending her $500k/year.”
Elon Musk is already the father of 13 other children. He has had children with three different women.
His growing number of children has often been discussed in the media.
This latest confirmation adds another child to his already large family.
