Katy Perry opens up about adjusting to everyday life again following public backlash over her recent Blue Origin space flight.
Katy Perry recently returned to Earth after her trip to space with Blue Origin.
The pop star, who is 40 years old, flew alongside notable figures like Gayle King and Lauren Sánchez.
After her space adventure, Perry is now focusing on her duties as a mother.
Katy Perry enjoys time with her daughter Daisy
Shortly after her return, Perry shared a sweet moment on social media.
She posted a picture of her four-year-old daughter, Daisy.

The photo showed Daisy’s lunch box filled with healthy snacks like pretzels, carrots, and cheese.
Perry expressed her joy in being back to normal life, writing about packing school lunches.
This simple act brought her comfort after the excitement of space travel.
“Back to the best reality, packing school lunch,” Perry wrote alongside a heart and daisy emoji.
During her space journey, Perry honored her daughter by bringing a daisy flower with her.
She mentioned that being a mother is her top priority, even above her historic flight.

“This experience is second to being a mom. That’s why it was hard for me to go because that’s all my love right there, and I have to surrender and trust that the universe is going to take care of me and protect me, and also my family and daughter.”
Perry added, “I am full up from being able to get that gift of being a mom, and to go to space is incredible, and I wanted to model courage, worthiness and fearlessness.”
Katy Perry celebrates the all-female space crew.
Perry was part of an all-female crew on the Blue Origin mission. The trip aimed to highlight the achievements of women in science and space exploration.
Each crew member wore a space suit representing their personal stories and careers.
Perry’s outfit featured a firework design, nodding to her hit song “Firework.”
The mission was not just about adventure; it was about inspiring young girls everywhere.

The singer faces backlash for the space trip
Despite the excitement, Perry faced criticism for her space journey.
Many people questioned the purpose of such trips, especially when there are pressing issues on Earth.
Some celebrities, like Olivia Munn, called the mission “gluttonous,” suggesting that the money spent on space tourism could be better used to help others.
“What are they doing?” the actress, 44, said on “Today With Jenna & Friends” on April 3.

“I know this probably isn’t the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now.”
“Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride? I think it’s a bit gluttonous,” Munn continued.
“Space exploration was to further our knowledge and to help mankind. What are they gonna do up there that has made it better for us down here?”
“Guys, last second they added me to space, and I’m going to space,” Amy Schumer mocked.
“I’m bringing this thing. It has no meaning to me, but it was in my bag, and I was on the subway, and I got the text, and they were like, ‘Do you want to go to space?’ so I’m going to space.”
“Thank you to everyone who got me here,” teased Schumer. “I’ll see you guys in space.”
The pop star responded to critics
In response to the backlash, Perry and her fellow crew members defended their mission.
They emphasized that their journey was meant to inspire and empower.
Gayle King spoke out, saying that the mission represents hope and progress for young women.
She encouraged critics to understand the value of the work behind such missions.
King and Sánchez, meanwhile, were quick to clap back at critics.

“Anybody that’s criticizing it doesn’t really understand what is happening here,” King said.
“We can all speak to the response we’re getting from young women from young girls about what this represents.”
“I get really fired up,” Sánchez chimed in.
“I would love to have them come to Blue Origin and see the thousands of employees that don’t just work here but they put their heart and soul into this vehicle.”
“They love their work and they love the mission and it’s a big deal for them,” she explained.
“So when we hear comments like that, I just say, trust me. Come with me. I’ll show you what this is about, and it’s, it’s really eye-opening.”
